My 12-week transformation: 190 lbs to 150 lbs
I firmly believe that anyone can reshape their body, and their life.
As someone who was overweight my entire life, I know what it's like. My quality of life just wasn't the same as the kids who were skinny and in shape. I learned to avoid social situations where you'd have to take your shirt off. I never went swimming at pool parties, and remember wearing a t-shirt when I was young into the pool if I absolutely had to swim. I didn't have the camaraderie of a sports team since I didn't want to be the slowest or worst guy on the team. I avoided a lot of social opportunities even in first year of university.
The sad part is that after a while you don't even notice anymore, and it just becomes "normal". It becomes normal to not exercise, not watch what you eat, and not take care of the most important thing - your health. For a long time I would say "next month I'll get in shape", or "it starts on Monday", but the reality was that I was clueless with how to start. I started trying to go to the gym and having some protein shakes, and saw some good results, but certainly not a big change. It wasn't until I realized that changing your body was about changing your life that I started seeing some drastic results. I learned how to exercise properly, how to eat to lose weight, and how to have a positive attitude about fitness. And I plowed along with these things until they became habits. And going from 190 pounds at 5'6", and barely able to run a kilometre, 4 months later I had lost 40 pounds and could run a 10k race.
